Learn about asthma reliever medications

This is a group of drugs that dilate the constricted bronchi, thereby stopping the feeling of suffocation and difficulty breathing during an asthma attack. There are drugs that are taken orally or by injection, and there are also drugs that are delivered directly into the respiratory tract, called inhalers. When using inhaler drugs, after only a few minutes the patient feels better, the feeling of suffocation disappears quickly, the "heavy stone" that is pressing on the chest suddenly disappears miraculously, like a miracle. However, some people are reluctant to use inhaler drugs, or have a "save it" mentality, or because they are afraid of "drug resistance", they wait until the asthma attack becomes severe to use this type of drug. When used late, the effectiveness of the drug is not as good as at first because the bronchi are constricted a lot, the patient no longer has enough strength to inhale strongly to bring the drug into the lungs. Inhaler asthma relievers work very quickly, but the duration of that effect is not long, only about 30 minutes to 3-4 hours. If the asthma attack is mild and the trigger has been prevented, the asthma attack may end later, but if the asthma attack becomes severe and the patient continues to be exposed to the "culprit" causing the asthma attack, the asthma attack will reappear after only a few hours.

Thus, asthma medications can help stop asthma attacks very effectively, but they only treat the symptoms of difficulty breathing due to bronchial spasms, and when the effect of the medication is no longer there, "the cat returns to the cat", the bronchi can constrict again as before.
