Symptoms and Consequences of Asthma
Symptoms of Asthma
Asthma, also known as "drowning on land," is a chronic respiratory disease characterized by inflammation and constriction of the airways. The typical symptoms of asthma include:

Treatment Methods for Asthma
Treating Asthma with Western Medicine
“Asthma is a genetic disease, and patients must live with it for life” – this is often what many patients hear when treating bronchial asthma.
According to modern medicine, asthma is understood as a chronic inflammatory disease of the bronchial mucosa, characterized by airway obstruction due to bronchial mucosal edema, increased mucus secretion, and bronchial smooth muscle spasms. The treatment methods mostly aim to improve symptoms, suppress the immune system, and reduce the body's response threshold to allergens to prevent spasms.
Consequences of Long-term Suppression Therapy:
- Increased reaction levels, leading to more severe relapses in the future.
- Reduced immunity, making the body more susceptible to infections.
- Osteoporosis, stomach ulcers, and chronic liver and kidney failure.
- Tremors, hypokalemia, and arrhythmia.
Supporting Asthma Treatment with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Similar to Western medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has long emphasized the role of environmental factors in causing asthma. External pathogens like wind-cold and wind-heat can invade the lungs, causing the lung qi to become obstructed, leading to irregular ascension and descent, which triggers asthma. Additionally, TCM has delved deeper into understanding why asthma is such a chronic and persistent condition. The main causes are:
- Weak lung qi, leading to respiratory difficulties.
- Kidney deficiency that fails to nourish the lungs, causing asthma.
- Spleen deficiency leading to excessive phlegm and dampness, which accumulates in the lungs, causing obstruction of the airways and difficulty breathing.
One of the long-standing formulas to effectively treat asthma is the “Ding Xuan Decoction,” which removes external pathogens and damp phlegm, while regulating lung qi and easing breathing.
Building upon the essence of the “Ding Xuan Decoction,” MTA Pharmaceuticals has developed the MTA Hen Suyễn powder, which supports lung function and eases breathing for those with asthma.
Benefits of MTA Hen Suyễn:
- Supports the resolution of cold, regulates lung qi, and controls asthma.
- Removes damp phlegm, alleviating coughing and difficulty breathing.
- Protects and maintains healthy respiratory function.
- Made from 100% clean herbal ingredients.
- Safe for both children and adults.
- Easy-to-consume syrup form, gentle on the throat.
Usage Pathway for MTA Hen Suyễn:
- First 10 days: Patients may experience more difficulty breathing as the disease begins to intensify.
- 10-30 days: The body expels phlegm from the superficial layers; symptoms may fluctuate, with reduced fatigue and some relief.
- 2-4 months: Phlegm is expelled from deeper layers, and the functions of the spleen, lungs, and kidneys are harmonized; symptoms gradually reduce, with improved comfort, better sleep, and lighter overall feeling.
- 4-6 months: Lung qi becomes clear, the body grows stronger, and resistance increases, resulting in the complete relief of breathing difficulties.
