MTA KIM NGAN PHONG PHARMACEUTICAL INFORMATION

MTA Kim Ngan Phong box of 25 packs is a herbal medicine that helps clear heat, detoxify, and reduce itching and skin rashes caused by heat for people with rashes and atopic dermatitis caused by wind heat.  

Composition:

For one 5g sachet:

• Rehmannia glutinosa extract (Cao Sinh địa): 400mg
• Coix seed extract (Cao Ý dĩ): 400mg
• Lonicera japonica extract (Cao Kim ngân): 400mg
• Schizonepeta tenuifolia extract (Cao Kinh giới): 300mg
• Saposhnikovia divaricata extract (Cao Phòng phong): 300mg
• Millettia reticulata extract (Cao Kê huyết đằng): 300mg
• Ageratum conyzoides extract (Cao Hoa ngũ sắc): 300mg
• Eclipta prostrata extract (Cao Cỏ nhọ nhồi): 300mg
• Xanthium strumarium extract (Cao Ké đầu ngựa): 300mg
• Excipients: Sufficient to make a 5g sachet.

Uses:

Supports heat-clearing and detoxification, helping to reduce skin itching, boils, and acne caused by heat.

Target Users:

Individuals with boils or atopic dermatitis due to wind-heat.

Dosage and Administration:

Take 3 times daily:

• Children 2–5 years old: ½ sachet per dose.
• Children 6–12 years old: 1 sachet per dose.
• Children over 12 years old: 1–2 sachets per dose.
• Adults: 2–3 sachets per dose.

Use the product continuously for at least 3 months. For chronic conditions, use for 2–3 courses. This product does not contain sucrose (table sugar).

HOW TO PREVENT AND TREAT ATOPIC DERMATITIS

What is atopic dermatitis?

Atopic dermatitis is known as a disease that is not dangerous but leaves many inconveniences that greatly affect the quality of life.

Atopic dermatitis can be hereditary, family history of atopic dermatitis, allergies. Internal irritants can cause sinusitis, cirrhosis, colitis. Due to dry, cold weather or dusty, polluted environment.

Symptoms

According to health news, atopic dermatitis develops through 4 stages: red skin, blisters, new skin, lichenification. The disease can become chronic, itchy, scratched and peeled. Many cases of secondary infection cause pyoderma, or very severe bacterial infection.  

Treatment of Atopic Dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis cannot be completely cured. Treatment primarily focuses on controlling itching, reducing skin inflammation, preventing secondary infections if present, and minimizing the appearance of skin lesions.

Western Medicine Treatment for Atopic Dermatitis

• Antibiotics for Secondary Infections: Depending on the infection’s severity, doctors will select appropriate antibiotics. In cases of eczema with purulent dermatitis, high-dose oral antibiotics are required to combat the infection.
• Topical Medications:
  • In the early stages, when the skin is red and slightly exudative, calamine lotion or similar solutions are used to soothe the skin and reduce itching. Commonly used solutions include 0.9% sodium chloride or 0.001% potassium permanganate, applied in the subacute eczema phase. Gauze soaked in these solutions is applied multiple times to the affected area.
  • Note: Solutions containing boric acid should not be used for children.
  • Advantages: These soothe the skin and promote healing within about one month.

However, most Western medicines for atopic dermatitis contain corticosteroids, which, when used long-term, can thin the skin. Relapse often occurs quickly (within 1–2 weeks) after discontinuing the medication, and the condition may worsen upon recurrence.

Traditional Medicine Treatment for Atopic Dermatitis

Using traditional herbal remedies to treat atopic dermatitis is very safe, highly effective, and provides longer-lasting results compared to Western medicine.

• Herbal Soaks/Washes:
