WHAT IS CONSTIPATION? CAUSES AND SYMPTOMS
Causes of constipation
In addition to causes such as tumors, lumps, and polyps in the rectum, constipation is most often caused by secondary causes that are easily encountered in daily life and eating such as:

Older adults are more prone to constipation for several reasons: poor diet and insufficient water intake, lack of exercise, side effects of medications, and poor bowel habits.
Consequences of Constipation
People with constipation experience at least two of the following symptoms: fewer than three bowel movements per week, difficulty in defecation, hard stools, a feeling of blockage in the rectum, the sensation of incomplete evacuation, or the need to use hands to assist during bowel movements.
If not treated in time, constipation can lead to troublesome consequences in daily life.

Treatment Methods for Constipation
Constipation is not a difficult condition to treat, but it can cause a lot of discomfort that affects daily life, health, and work.
Western Medicine Treatment for Constipation
In Western medicine, constipation is considered a symptom of a disease, and treatment primarily focuses on improving diet and using medications that increase osmotic pressure, stimulate bowel movements, laxatives, stool softeners, and anal stimulants to induce defecation. The advantage of Western medications is their quick results, offering immediate relief.
Side effects of Western treatments:
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhea, loose stools, and possible loss of bowel control
- Loss of natural bowel reflex, which worsens the condition
- Prolonged use can lead to dehydration, affecting digestion and nutrient absorption
- Common occurrence of drug tolerance, requiring increasing doses
Traditional Medicine Support for Treating Constipation
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), constipation is caused by various factors, including weak Qi, blood deficiency, and accumulated heat in the large intestine; internal heat from Yin deficiency; or improper diet.
Unlike Western treatments, which may cause side effects with long-term use, Traditional Medicine treatments do not carry these risks. Many herbal remedies in TCM have the effect of promoting bowel movement, as well as cooling heat, detoxifying, and addressing the root cause of the condition.
The herbal formula "Thang Tang Dịch" includes the following ingredients:
- Huyền Sâm: Nourishes Yin, clears heat, generates body fluids, relieves dryness, and promotes bowel movement.
- Mạch Môn: Moistens the lungs, clears heat, and is used to treat constipation.
- Sinh Địa: Nourishes Yin, clears heat, generates blood, and cools the blood.
- Thảo Quyết Minh: Clears liver heat, expels wind-heat, promotes bowel movement, and relieves water retention.
- Phan Tả Diệp: Clears heat, resolves stagnation, benefits the digestive system, and promotes bowel movement.
MTA Sinh Huyền Môn is based on the "Thang Tang Dịch" formula, which helps nourish Yin, enriches blood, generates body fluids, promotes bowel movement, breaks up blockages, and facilitates defecation. It is effective for individuals with constipation, including chronic constipation. The product is approved by the Ministry of Health for national distribution.
For those with chronic constipation, it is recommended to use MTA Sinh Huyền Môn consistently for 2-3 months to improve digestion and liver-kidney function.
